Today I pulled the engine out of the frame, or more correctly removed the frame from the engine. I used a hydraulic jack to support the engine when I removed all the bolts, and then I could lower the engine using the jack. It was then an easy task to just lift the frame up in the rear end and roll it free from the engine forward on the front wheel.
I brought the engine home from the garage and now it rests in the basement until I start to pull it apart.
