Long time no update!

Dear Blog visitor!

I've been a bad blogger and there's been no update since May.
The last weeks of May was very intense to get the bike ready for the first trackdays at Kinnekulle, 2-3 of June. The last bits (rear brake etc.) was in place just the night before leaving for the track! The two days was very fun and the bike worked quite well, though i had to do some adjustments on the suspension. I also had to move the oil cooler to get the fairing in place since I hadn't had the time to try it on before i went off for the track.

I've been to three more track days during the summer and I will back-update the blog with info on both what has happend on the bike and text and pictures from the track days.

Stay tuned!

Front brake light switch

I’ve been working with the bike all winter and still there are lots of small things that have to be fixed! When I was connecting the cables to the front brake light switch one of the connecting pins broke. A quick trip to a electronic retail company (ELFA) solved the problem, and the new connector is actually better then the original since it doesn’t have connector pins that can be bent, but cables instead.

New ignition cables

Only one week left to this seasons firts track days and the bike’s still not ready.
The ignitions cables were everything but good so they must be changed. High quality silicon cables felt more appropriate for this bike!

In the yard

Today I rode the bike back home from the garage. It’s just 3 km but I was really careful and rode really slow. What if I forgot something? Everything felt OK but I am really not used to riding this bike!

I hadn’t had the time to put on the front fairing so for now it’s a “nuda” DB2 !
Behind the Bimota is Jennys Ducati 750SSie that has been out on the roads for alomost a month now.

Finally everything in place

Finally I got everything in place. Now it's just the tank and the newly bought battery left before I cross my fingers and hit the starter button!

Several late nights in the garage made me a little too eager to get the bike toghether. I did remove the petrol tap and I did see that the o-rings wasn't too good, but still I didn't double check that the tap was tight, and of course it wasn't! Petrol all over the engine and the next thing I discovered was that the paint I used wasn't petrol resistant! That was really a slap in the face after all the work with painting the engine!

However, when I changed the o-rings the tap was tight, and it was time to try to start the bike. At first the engine wouldn't crank although I had a new battery, but when I connected a car battery the engine started within just a few cranks.

What a relief!

Yet a night in the garage

More assembly! Time for chain and clutch. I little pity I plan to use a closed clutch cover when the clutch looks this good!

I also filled up with oil and checked that there was oil pressure by cranking the engine with the starter. Everything looks fine!
