Drilling lots of holes

The rear sprocket fitted on the bike is home made from a blank, but no lightening (or decoration if you like) holes where drilled. Today I spent some time in the work shop drilling to give the sprocket a better appearance. I designed a pattern with 18 holes, but since I had to drill them steps with in increasing diameter there was an awful lot of drilling!
You can question putting that much work in a spocket that needs to be changed pretty soon, but I also consider it as a test. I came to the conclusion that it isn’t worth the work to make rear sprockets from blanks. In the future I will order them from Weires in Germany. I also found that Renthal makes a sprocket for a -92 Ducati 888 Corsa that will fit, so that is also an option.
